Six Nations Betting

The Six Nations Championship (known as the Guinness Six Nations) is a Rugby Union competition between England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, France, and Italy, that takes place every year.

The competition began as the Home Nations Championship in 1883, with the "Home Nations" of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales competing. This became the Five Nations Championship when France was added in 1910. Italy was added to the competition in 2000, making it the Six Nations.

Beginning in February, matches are played over 5 weekends throughout February and March. The first match in the 2024 Six Nations is on the 2nd of February, between France and Ireland. The final match takes place between France and England on the 16th of March. This popular competition has rivalries and is an important event for any rugby fan's calendar.

How to Bet on the Six Nations

With a variety of markets across Six Nations betting, you can test your knowledge of the game and the competitors. From betting on the outright winners to which team will receive the wooden spoon, browse our latest odds and put your rugby know-how to the test. Just like other Rugby Union betting, we supply the latest odds for the Six Nations for you to bet on.

Live Six Nations Betting

When watching one of the Six Nations matches, why not bet on it live? When you bet in-play, odds will change as the match progresses. But when you make an in-play bet, you are locked in at the odds you bet at. So, if you know one of the Nations does better in the second half of a game, you may see good odds in your favour. In-play Six Nations betting puts your knowledge of the teams to the test.

Six Nations Winner

One of the most common bets to make during the Six Nations is who will win the overall championship. Will Ireland defend their 2023 win and stay on top? Or will Wales or England (who share the most wins, with 39 each, though England has the most outright wins of 29 compared to Wales' 28) take the title? Maybe Italy or Scotland will surprise us all and take a win for the first time since 2000. Who knows how the championship will play out? Use your knowledge of the teams and players to decide who you think will win, or simply bet for your team to win. Check out our odds and bet on the outright Six Nations winner.

Matches

You can bet on the winner of each of the 15 matches that take place during the Six Nations. There are three ways to bet on the matches themselves. You can choose a three-way bet, which is where you bet on one of the three possible outcomes in a rugby game – home win, draw, or away win.

As draws are less likely in rugby, due to the high-scoring nature of the game, we also offer tie no-bet options. This takes away the possibility of a tie. If the match does end in a tie, your stake is returned to you, meaning you neither win nor lose.

Another option is to bet with a handicap. A handicap bet is a great way to extend the odds if there is a clear favourite to win. This gives one of the teams either a hypothetical defect or a headstart. For example, if Team A are the clear favourite to win a match, you can bet on the team they are against with a +15.5. This will reduce your odds but make the match and bet more even.

Under/Over Betting

Under/over betting looks at certain stats, rather than the match itself. The most common form of this bet is total points, which is the number of points that both teams score combined. With under/over betting, you can bet that a certain stat, such as points, will be higher or lower than a given number. This means you are not betting on which team will win, but rather on the number of points (or other stat) within the match itself, regardless of the winner and loser.

Specials

It's not only the matches and the overall winner of the Six Nations that you can bet on; at LiveScore Bet, we also offer a variety of specials. These include which team will win the wooden spoon (last place). Will Italy take the wooden spoon for the 19th time, or will England or Ireland finish last for the first time?

The Grand Slam is also a popular special to bet on. The Grand Slam is awarded to the team that wins all of their matches. Will Ireland take this award again in 2024? Or will England win this for the 14th time despite not earning this award since 2016?

With rivalries and additional awards, our Six Nations specials offer plenty of betting options throughout the competition.
